If you are reading this blog, chances are you submitted an idea for Brownfields 2008 through our open call for presentations. Every year we get hundreds of submissions and this year is no exception as more than five hundred were entered into our online database.
So now what happens?
On Thursday, November 8th a large committee, with representation from a diverse array of organizations, will start to review submissions and begin the process of recommending the 2008 educational program. Following the review committee’s recommendations, and throughout November and the early part of December, ICMA staff will begin to contact moderators, firm up titles and descriptions, and finally reach out to potential speakers for the more than one-hundred educational sessions that will be crafted for the Detroit conference. We’ll also be reaching out to dozens of you to see if you’d like to present your idea in the poster gallery. It’s going to take us some time to firm up both the educational sessions and the poster gallery, so we appreciate your patience as we move forward; however if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
