Roaring into Spring

| Tad McGalliard

Today's seventy degree temperatures in the mid-Atlantic region reminded me that spring will soon be here.  And with spring, comes the 2008 National Brownfields Conference.  I am often asked how things are shaping up; and I'm always happy to report that Brownfields 2008 is hitting on all cylinders.

  • Registration is on pace, slightly ahead at times, of the record setting Boston 2006 conference.
  • The 2008 exhibit hall and tradeshow will likely be the largest in the 12 year history of the event. As of this writing, more than 250 booths have been reserved.
  • Properties available for deals are being inserted into our new interactive transaction forum database.  If you haven't taken a look at the new system that uses Google Maps, please do so at www.brownfields2008.org/btf
  • Interest among stakeholders in and around Detroit, Michigan, and throughout the midwest continues to build.

By all metrics, the 2008 conference promises to be a great success.  So as winter transitions into spring, more slowly for some of you granted, let's all start to look forward to the upcoming conference in Detroit.

Oh and one more thing and another metric, rooms in the conference block are selling out at a rapid pace.  If you haven't already, register for the conference and then get a room reserved.  The block will be gone before you know it.
