Windsor, Ontario Hotels

Border Crossing Information - To enter Canada or the United States, visitors MUST have proof of citizenship.  Accepted identification can consist of EITHER a birth certificate along with government-issued picture ID (drivers license), OR a passport.  If you are a permanent resident of the U.S., you should bring your Permanent Resident Card (i.e. green card) with you.

How do I get to Windsor Canada?

The Tunnel Bus travels to and from Detroit and Windsor approximately every 20 minutes on weekdays, download transit schedule here. The one-way fare is $3.75 and can be paid in US or Canadian funds; no exchange is given. How do I get help to make my reservation?

We are sold out of Brownfields Block Rooms so you will have to call each hotel directly to make your reservation.  If you need help you can contact the Brownfields 2008 Conference Help Line at 1-877-343-5374 (toll-free).  Sorry we can't make reservations for you.

How do I cancel or modify my Reservation?

To avoid cancellation charges and early check-out charges, check the hotel’s cancellation policy here -

• For reservations made through the Housing Bureau, cancellations and modifications made through the housing bureau must be made through the Housing Bureau by fax to (313) 202-1846 or by email to jfrancis@visitdetroit.com on or before April 14, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. Eastern.  After April 15, call the hotel directly to request cancellations and modifications.

Will I get a confirmation?

After your room is reserved, you will receive a summary via email, fax or mail from the Housing Bureau if you booked your hotel using the Housing Bureau.  Once the hotel confirms the reservation, the actual hotel confirmation will then be sent to you.  You will need your hotel confirmation number if you make changes to your reservation.  If you booked at the Sheraton or the MotorCity Casino you will have to get a confirmation directly from the hotel.

What if the block sells out?

All room requests are on a first-come, first-served basis.  If the Housing Bureau cannot place you in a contracted hotel we will contact you directly. At this time the Courtyard by Marriott Detroit Downtown, Detroit Marriott at Renaissance Center, Hilton Garden Inn - Detroit Downtown, Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites - Detroit Downtown, and the Sheraton Detroit Riverside Hotel are “Sold Out”.

How much does it cost to park and how do I get from my hotel to the COBO Center?

Getting to the COBO Center is easy! Most conference hotels are close to a "People Mover" station and there is a stop for the COBO Center.  Paid parking is also available at your hotel and the COBO Center.  The fee is $.50 each way or $1.25 for a day pass.
